Applications Open From June 8; Class 12 Pass Candidates Eligible to Apply
The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has launched one of its largest recruitment drives in recent years, inviting applications for 3,991 Civil Police Constable posts across the state.
The recruitment process will be conducted through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), with online registrations scheduled to begin on June 8, 2026. Eligible candidates who have completed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification can submit their applications through the official recruitment portal.
Massive Recruitment Across Karnataka
The vacancies have been announced through two separate notifications covering different cadres and regions within Karnataka Police.
According to the recruitment details, a total of 3,991 Civil Police Constable positions will be filled through direct recruitment.
The vacancies include opportunities for male, female, ex-servicemen and third-gender candidates.
Vacancy Breakdown
Notification 1 – Kalyana Karnataka and SC Cadre
A total of 596 posts have been earmarked under the Kalyana Karnataka and Scheduled Caste cadre recruitment.
Notification 2 – Mixed Cadre
The larger notification covers 3,395 vacancies spread across various police units, districts and cities in Karnataka.
Combined, both notifications account for 3,991 vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have passed:
- PUC (Class 12) or equivalent examination
The notification also accepts certain equivalent qualifications, including approved diploma courses and recognized open schooling certifications as specified by Karnataka Police.

Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of multiple stages designed to evaluate academic knowledge, physical fitness and medical suitability.
Stage 1: Written Examination
The written test will be conducted in offline OMR format.

Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates clearing the written examination will undergo physical measurements including height, chest and weight verification.

- High Jump
- Long Jump
- Shot Put
The standards vary for male, female and special-category candidates.
Stage 4: Medical Examination
A detailed medical assessment will be conducted before final selection.

Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from:
₹37,500 to ₹76,100
Apart from the basic pay, candidates will also be entitled to Karnataka Government allowances and National Pension Scheme (NPS) benefits.

Training and Probation
Candidates selected through the recruitment process will undergo nine months of police training at designated training centres.
After appointment, recruits will remain on probation for two years and six months before confirmation of service.
