Agency says fake paper leak messages are being used to target candidates and parents ahead of the June 21 re-examination
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a strong advisory to medical aspirants, dismissing viral claims regarding the alleged leak or sale of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination question paper.
The clarification comes as messages circulating across social media platforms and messaging apps continue to claim that the upcoming re-test paper is available in advance. The agency has described these claims as misleading and fraudulent.
NTA Calls Viral Claims False
In its latest communication, the examination body said it had taken note of several posts and messages promoting so-called access to the NEET-UG re-test paper.
According to the agency, no such claims are genuine. Officials stressed that the examination process remains secure and that safeguards have been put in place to ensure a fair test for all candidates.
The NTA urged students not to believe or share unverified information being circulated online.
Fraud Networks Allegedly Targeting Aspirants
The agency alleged that organised groups are attempting to exploit the anxiety of students preparing for one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations.
Officials warned that these groups are reportedly trying to collect money by promising fake question papers and false guarantees of success.
The NTA emphasised that every claim involving advance access to the examination paper should be treated as suspicious.
Cyber Action Underway
The examination authority said it has begun tracking social media accounts, online channels and digital content spreading misinformation related to the NEET re-test.
According to the agency, details of such accounts are being shared with cyber-crime authorities and digital platforms for further action.
The NTA also indicated that individuals involved in creating or circulating fraudulent examination-related content could face legal consequences.
Students Advised to Trust Only Official Updates
Officials have appealed to candidates and their families to rely exclusively on information published through official NTA channels.
Students were specifically advised not to purchase study material or question papers from unauthorised sources claiming insider access to the examination.
The agency reiterated that hard work and preparation remain the only reliable path to success in the examination.

The NEET-UG examination was originally held on May 3. However, the test was later cancelled following allegations related to a paper leak.
The matter is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
